An EHR with the clearinghouse already inside it
AgenciesForge includes the clearinghouse in every plan, through its partnership with Stedi, so behavioral health, home health, home care and waiver agencies check eligibility (270/271), submit professional and institutional claims (837P and 837I), check claim status, and post 277CA acknowledgments and 835 remittance without a separate clearinghouse contract. A 15-point check runs before each claim goes out, and routine denials are appealed automatically. Plans start at $199 a month, with unlimited clinicians.
Setting up is free. You pay when you go live. Unlimited clinicians on every agency plan.
Every claim, and what to do about the denied ones
Billed, paid, outstanding and denial rate at the top; every claim with its status underneath. Ask why one was denied and the answer includes the fix.
Recorded in the product. Demo agency, fictional patient.
What's included
Eligibility before the visit
Real-time 270/271 checks, single or in bulk, and an automatic check when a new patient is added with insurance on file. Recent results are reused so the same check isn't paid for twice.
Claims from the note
A signed note or verified visit becomes an 837P or 837I claim with the rendering clinician's NPI, without re-typing codes.
Checked before it's sent
A 15-point audit catches missing modifiers, authorization and diagnosis problems, and past denials from the same payer before the claim leaves.
Status, acknowledgments, payments
Real-time claim status, 277CA acknowledgments, and 835 ERA posting straight onto each claim.
Denials worked for you
Routine denials appealed and resubmitted automatically; the rest drafted and held for your review. Underpayments against your usual rate are flagged.
Patient statements
Monthly statements for patient balances, generated from the claims and payments already on file.
What to check in any EHR's billing
An EHR that says it bills can mean anything from a CMS-1500 printout to a full cycle. Ask:
- Is the clearinghouse included, or a second contract with its own fees and login?
- Do remittances post themselves onto the claim, or does someone key them in?
- Is the claim checked before it goes out, including against that payer's past denials?
- Does it support institutional claims (837I) if you do home health?
- What happens to a denial: a report, or an appeal?

Is it the right fit?
A good fit
- Agencies billing Medicaid, MCOs, Medicare or commercial payers
- Agencies paying a separate clearinghouse today
- Owners who want denials worked, not just reported
Probably not a fit
- Billing services that submit for many unrelated practices
- Agencies serving more than 500 active patients (talk to us about a custom plan)
Questions owners ask
Which behavioral health or home care platform includes a clearinghouse?
AgenciesForge includes the clearinghouse in every plan, through its partnership with Stedi. Eligibility checks (270/271), professional and institutional claims (837P and 837I), real-time claim status, claim acknowledgments (277CA) and electronic remittance (835) all run inside the platform, with no separate clearinghouse contract, login or invoice.
Is there an extra fee per claim?
There is no separate clearinghouse subscription. Each plan includes a monthly claim allowance sized to its patient capacity (EHR Starter 200, EHR Professional 800, EHR Enterprise 2,000), which covers a full caseload billed every two weeks. Claims beyond the allowance are $0.50 each.
Do payments post automatically?
Yes. When an 835 remittance arrives, it's matched to the claim and posted: paid amounts, adjustments and denial reasons land on the claim without re-keying.
What happens when a claim is denied?
The denial reason is read and sorted. Routine denials such as missing information, wrong payer or missing prior authorization are appealed and resubmitted automatically; medical-necessity, high-dollar and repeat denials wait for your review with a drafted appeal.
Which kinds of agencies can bill through it?
Behavioral health, DD/IDD waiver, home health, non-medical home care, residential and pediatric agencies. Home health's Medicare claims go out as 837I institutional claims; most other services go out as 837P.
Can we keep our current clearinghouse?
The built-in clearinghouse is the supported path, because eligibility, claims and payments flow straight back into the chart and the billing screens. Agencies usually switch at a month boundary and finish trailing claims in the old system.
